Announces NBA All-Star 2024 Activation

INDIANAPOLIS – Today, the largest nonpartisan voting registration and get-out-the-vote platform in America, announced a collaboration with the NBA during NBA All-Star 2024 to register fans and students to vote at the NBA HBCU Classic on the ground in Indianapolis this weekend. will be holding a voter registration and verification contest between the two universities competing in the HBCU Classic, as well as leading the NBA’s spotlights on voting across NBA All-Star, via the HBCU Classic Tailgate, in the pre-game program, and during a HBCU career panel alongside NBA players and leaders.

“Across the nation, there are millions of young people who are newly eligible to vote in 2024 – and they hold the power to decide the direction of our whole country if they register and vote,” said Andrea Hailey, CEO of “We’re proud to be working again with the NBA to help reach more young people and students of color with the tools to vote and make their voices heard at the ballot box. Approximately 45 percent of the Gen Z electorate in 2024, including 47 percent of newly eligible voters who are now old enough to vote for their first presidential election in 2024, are youth of color.’s student registration and verification competition at the HBCU classic will allow students and fans representing the competing teams – Virginia Union University and Winston-Salem State University – to register their vote as a part of their school at the tailgate booths and QR codes throughout the event.

This year’s NBA HBCU Classic follows’s previous collaboration with the NBA and the National Basketball Players Association. In 2020, developed the Players.Vote site to help the NBPA support voting and voting by mail for its players during the COVID19 pandemic and the NBA “bubble”. has also facilitated civic engagement trainings for student leaders on HBCU campuses, including Virginia Union University, as part of a partnership with the NBA Players’ Association Foundation. remains the featured tool of the website. also partners with HBCU campus micro influencers to reach directly out to peers in HBCUs to register and vote.’s full Campus Engagement program reached a total of 32 schools across five states - Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi - reaching 629,570 students in 2023, 44 percent of whom were students of color.
