Tell Congress to Support Pro-voting Legislation

Voting should be accessible for every voter — no matter where they live, what they do for a living, their economic status, or the color of their skin. Take action by telling your senators to pass the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act.

Tell Congress to Support the Freedom to Vote Act

Our democracy is at stake. Take action by contacting your representative and urging them to support the Freedom to Vote Act. This democracy reform package will combat voter suppression, protect and strengthen the sacred right to vote, and put a stop to many of the disenfranchisement tactics, such as closed polling places and overly restrictive rules, being proposed by some state legislators.

Tell Congress to Pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act

Voting should be accessible for every voter — no matter where they live, what they do for a living, their economic status, or the color of their skin. The John Lewis Voting Rights Act would restore the Voting Rights Act (VRA) and strengthen the provisions in it to protect the freedom to vote for all Americans, particularly voters of color. Until the VRA was gutted in 2013, states and counties with a history of discrimination had to get federal approval for new voting laws, which stopped thousands of deliberate barriers to voting from taking effect. The John Lewis Voting Rights Act would restore this critical review process, protecting every American's right to be heard in our democracy.

Tell Congress to Support D.C. Statehood

245 years ago American colonies revolted against the British government for forcing them to pay taxes without giving them a voice in their government. Yet the residents of Washington, D.C. are still living under taxation without representation. Many families have lived and worked in D.C. for generations, and 43% of them are Black. Hundreds of thousands of D.C. residents have never been represented in Congress. And we can help change that.
