Vote.org Urges Senate to Reject Restrictive, Antidemocratic Voting Bill

WASHINGTON, DC — As the U.S. Senate prepares to vote on the so-called SAVE America Act, Vote.org, the nation's largest nonpartisan, nonprofit voter registration and get-out-the-vote technology platform, is calling on senators to reject the bill and protect Americans' fundamental right to vote. 

Andrea Hailey, CEO of Vote.org, issued the following statement:

"The SAVE Act is a solution in search of a problem — and the price of that solution is paid by tens of millions of eligible American voters. Our elections are already secure. Every state already verifies voters' identities. What this bill would actually do is throw up barriers that millions of Americans, particularly women, low-income voters, and communities of color, simply cannot clear. 

"This isn't election security — it's election interference. And the Senate should reject it."
