Voter registration deadlines and rules
Early voting
Early voting starts on December 14, 2020.* Visit the Georgia Secretary of State site to find your polling place and schedule.
*Holiday schedule may vary by county.
Voting by mail / absentee ballot
If you want to vote using a mail-in ballot in Georgia you will need to request one specifically for the Georgia runoff, even if you voted by mail in the November 3 election. While you can still request an absentee ballot, we would recommend making a voting plan to vote early or on Election Day.
Voted absentee ballots are due
Ballots must be received by the time the polls close on January 5, 2021.
Track your absentee ballot
You can check the status of your absentee ballot using Georgia’s ballot tracker website.
What to do if your mail ballot is rejected
If your ballot is rejected, you must correct your ballot before it is counted. Contact your local elections office to submit the necessary documents to have your ballot counted.
Provisional ballots and other issues voting in person
If you are asked to cast a provisional ballot, or have any issues voting in person, call the Election Protection Hotline at 866-687-8683. For any other questions use our voter rights guide.
